Died in Greencastle Township on April 6, 1892 of heart disease, Woodville Browning aged 48 years. The deceased was one of the old residents of Greencastle and had a host of friends. Funeral on the afternoon of April 8 with honors of Masonry, deceased being a worthy and cherished member of Temple Lodge No 47, Free & Accepted Masons.

Notice: The members of the Temple Lodge, number 47, F&AM will meet at the hall this evening, April 7th at 7:39 (sic) o’clock to make arrangements for the funeral of Bro. Wood Browning which will occur on Friday. All masons are urged to attend. By order of James Mathews, WM Attest: GG Bennett, Sec.

Wood Browning, who had been ill for several months, died at 7 o’clock yesterday morning at his residence in Fox Ridge. About four months ago Mr. Browning was attacked by the grip, from which he never recovered. The disease finally reached his heart with fatal results.  Mr. Browning was about 58 years of age, and was a prominent member of the masonic order.  He was also a soldier.

Note: Buried Forest Hill, Greencastle.  Born: 2 November 1833 Died: 6 April 1892 Wife: Agnes Muir 1834-1889 (married 30 Oct 1853).  On FindAGrave they have two daughters: Harriet and Amanda but they also had Albert .  He enlisted 17 May 1864 in Company F 133th Indiana Infantry and mustered out in Indianapolis 5 Sept 1864
